Agreement Reached to Accelerate Existing Projects with KOICA and Develop New Joint Initiatives

First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Olimjon Umarov held a meeting with Shin Myung-seop, Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Office in Uzbekistan, to discuss the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in the digital sector.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Umarov highlighted the productive partnership established with KOICA over the years and shared updates on the Ministry’s ongoing reforms and priority digital transformation projects. He emphasized the essential role of international partners, including KOICA, in advancing Uzbekistan’s digital agenda.
In turn, Director Shin Myung-seop provided an overview of KOICA’s ongoing digitalization projects in Uzbekistan, particularly in the areas of public administration, education, and healthcare. He outlined specific efforts to implement digital solutions in government systems and noted KOICA’s contributions to modernizing healthcare through the digitization of medical laboratories and the introduction of advanced information systems.
Mr. Shin expressed KOICA’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Technologies, particularly in the areas of personnel training and capacity-building for digital professionals.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to intensify work on existing joint projects, explore new collaborative initiatives, and promote the adoption of high-tech solutions in Uzbekistan’s digital ecosystem.
