The camp is organized by the Ministry of ecology, environmental protection and climate change, the Tourism committee, the Agency for Youth Affairs and the Tashkent regional administration (khokimiyat). It brings together 15 young leaders from each region of Uzbekistan, including members of the "Young Ecologists" movement, volunteers, eco-activists, and winners of the "Ecology Experts" competition.
During the opening ceremony, Zarrina Abdullaeva, Head of Department at the Ministry of Ecology, emphasized the growing role of youth in environmental protection:
"Today, as in many other fields, youth participation in environmental efforts is becoming increasingly important. We must pass on a healthy environment to future generations and it is the youth who represent the greatest force in achieving this goal. The "Eco-Camp" is designed to support your initiatives in finding effective solutions to environmental problems, to serve as a platform for sharing ideas and experiences, and to help you unlock your full potential," said Zarrina Abdullaeva.
Jamshid Babajanov, Deputy Hokim of Tashkent Region, also praised the youth for their energy, determination, and dedication, and wished them success throughout the camp's activities.
At the opening ceremony, teams from all regions delivered thematic presentations on environmental protection and sustainable practices, each reflecting unique national characteristics.
For reference: Participants of the eco-camp will take part in a rich and diverse program, including educational seminars on environmental issues and solutions, intellectual games, large-scale sports and plogging competitions, project presentations, contests, cultural and entertainment events, meetings with prominent figures, and excursions to historical sites.
At the conclusion of the camp, the most active teams and regional representatives will be awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts. In addition, each participant will receive a special certificate of participation.
