During the inspection, it was revealed that a resident of Navbahor District, Navoi Region — citizen I.I. — had been illegally extracting a sand and gravel mixture from the riverbed using his own equipment and loading it onto transport vehicles.
In this regard, the offender's equipment was seized and placed in the impound lot. A report was drawn up in respect of citizen I.I. and a fine of 30 BCV - 11 250 000 sums was imposed in accordance with Part 1 of Article 70 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan . In addition, a compensation of 14 152 320 sums was imposed on him for the damage caused to nature.
The drivers of the trucks who attempted to flee the scene were identified through law enforcement agencies. Administrative proceedings were initiated against them under Part 2 of Article 82 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan for disobeying lawful orders of state inspectors.
Environmental authorities continue to carry out monitoring efforts to prevent similar violations and to protect the region’s natural resources.
