The aim of these activities was to broadly promote environmental education among young people, foster a culture of recreation and picnicking, and raise public awareness of eco-tourism. These efforts are being carried out as part of the implementation of the Presidential Decree “On the State Program for the Implementation of the Strategy "Uzbekistan – 2030" in the Year of Environmental Protection and the Green Economy.”
It is worth noting that during peak vacation season, popular eco-tourism areas across the regions often become overwhelmed with waste. Within the framework of the "Picnic Culture" campaign, particular emphasis was placed on fostering a sense of responsibility toward nature. Participants were reminded of the importance of not polluting natural areas, disposing of waste only in designated places, or, if such places are unavailable, taking waste away with them. Otherwise, by prioritizing personal convenience, we inflict serious—and sometimes irreversible—harm on the environment.
As part of the Plogging Tour, more than 40 tons of waste were collected across the country. Specifically, during Eco-Camp 2025, over 1 ton of waste was removed from the grounds of the youth camp in the Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region.
For reference: The Presidential Resolution “On the approval of the Сoncept for raising environmental awareness of the population for the period until 2030” places a strong focus on fostering eco-consciousness among the younger generation. Plogging activities help nurture a culture among youth that discourages pollution, promotes waste separation and recycling, and enhances overall environmental responsibility.
