Among the projects, Ecomobile, developed by a team from Turin Polytechnic University, drew particular attention. The development is an environmentally friendly vehicle powered by green energy. This vehicle is aimed at reducing harmful emissions and can be used both in the urban environment and in ecotourism. The project demonstrates the possibilities of sustainable mobility that meets the environmental challenges of the time.
An innovative solution for agricultural waste recycling was presented by Sarvinoz Shermatova through her project Liveco.uz. From rice husks—typically burned or discarded—her team developed methods to produce paper, biodegradable eco-bags, activated charcoal, and eco-friendly children’s pillows. All products are safe, environmentally friendly, and sold under the Liveco.uz brand. This startup addresses multiple issues at once: reducing air and soil pollution, replacing plastic, and creating economic value from waste.
Oyshabonu Narzullaeva introduced Solvia, a digital platform aimed at reducing food waste and supporting vulnerable communities. Through a redistribution system and the transformation of food surplus into animal feed and fertilizers, the project simultaneously tackles environmental, economic, and social challenges. This circular economy model demonstrates how even small businesses can be sustainable and socially beneficial.
Another standout project was Mangrovlarni tiklash (“Restoring Mangroves”), an initiative by Asliddinbek Tursunniyozov. Mangrove plantations help protect coastlines from erosion and climate risks, provide habitats for wildlife, and improve the natural carbon balance.
Great interest was also shown in the eco-gypsum tile innovation by Jumagul Turgunbayeva. The new composition and production technology for tongue-and-groove gypsum tiles use local raw materials and industrial waste to create an environmentally friendly and cost-efficient building material.
Among the projects focused on recycling, TILE MOSAIC stood out — an initiative to produce durable and affordable construction tiles from recycled plastic. The project was developed by Madinakhon Mustofaeva, a student at Tashkent State Medical University.
In the agricultural field, the project Growz made a strong impression — a digital platform powered by artificial intelligence developed by Laziz Iskandarov. It helps microfarmers diagnose plant diseases, receive treatment recommendations, choose agricultural products, and purchase supplies via a marketplace. This comprehensive solution aims to make farming smarter, more profitable, and environmentally sustainable.
The Wasteless project, proposed by Jahongir Ortikov, automates the sorting and removal of waste in the HoReCa sector. The app connects businesses with recyclers, streamlines documentation, and introduces a rewards system through bonuses and eco-labeling.
A highlight for both the jury and the audience was Hunteruzb.uz — a national digital platform for managing hunting, quotas, and environmental monitoring. The system enables permit tracking, data analytics, and greater transparency in natural resource management. Created in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology, the platform is already in use.
The platform YashilOlam.uz, presented by Murod Komilov, offers digital tools for environmental education, carbon footprint tracking, organizing tree-planting campaigns, and promoting “green” initiatives. The app targets a wide audience — schoolchildren, university students, activists, and NGOs.
All participants had the opportunity to present their developments to government agencies, international organizations, and investors. The startups were recognized for their innovation, sustainability, scalability, and contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Several of the projects have already begun implementation in partnership with private sector companies and government ministries.
Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 demonstrated that Uzbekistan’s youth is ready not only to talk about the environment, but to act. These startups are living proof that a sustainable future is being built today.
