Over 40 Waste Management Agreements Signed at Eco Expo 2025

Notably, four agreements between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were signed with the participation of Deputy Minister of Ecology Jusipbek Kazbekov and Director of the Agency for Waste Management and Development of the Circular Economy under the Ministry of Ecology Sharifbek Khasanov.
Among them was a Memorandum of Understanding between the Agency for Waste Management and Development of the Circular Economy and the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The document focuses on accelerating the transition to a green economy, promoting clean technologies, improving waste management, and attracting investment in green projects.
The Agency also signed a memorandum with the Kazakh company “ReBin” on developing modern solutions and enhancing waste recycling.
In the field of electronic waste recycling, memorandums were signed between the sanitation company “Zero Waste” and Kazakhstan’s “Technic Destroy”, as well as between Uzbekistan’s “NO WASTE LLC” and Kazakhstan’s “Food Waste LLP”.
In total, more than 40 agreements were signed during the exhibition, involving all regions of Uzbekistan and major companies from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Norway, and Belarus, alongside domestic enterprises specializing in recycling and the production of waste management equipment.
Key agreements include:
Bukhara Region: Recycling of waste into fuel for cement plants, construction of wastewater treatment facilities, installation of filters in food service establishments, introduction of underground waste containers, production of flower and tree pots from plastic, and the procurement of 10 recycling vending machines.
Jizzakh Region: Recycling of food, plastic, glass, and aluminum waste, and the purchase of compact scooters for solid waste collection.
Navoi Region: Food waste recycling.
Namangan Region: Procurement of household waste containers.
Samarkand Region: Recycling of paper, organic waste, and lithium-ion batteries.
Surkhandarya Region: Installation of waste sorting and disposal machines.
Syrdarya Region: Implementation of recycling technologies at solid waste landfills.
Tashkent Region: Construction of a plant for lithium-ion battery recycling and food waste processing.
Fergana Region: Exchange of expertise in organic waste recycling, and recycling of solid and construction waste into finished products.
Khorezm Region: Recycling of secondary polymers and plastics, supply of polyethylene pellets, and provision of household waste containers.
Tashkent City: Recycling of organic waste, safe disposal and processing of batteries and electric vehicle accumulators, and the design and construction of biological wastewater treatment facilities.
The agreements signed during “Eco Expo Central Asia 2025” represent a significant step forward in regional cooperation on waste management. These efforts not only contribute to ecological sustainability but also help lay the foundation for the development of a robust circular economy.
