Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 honored outstanding pavilions and startups

In the “Best Pavilion” category among ministries, first place was awarded to the Ministry of Economy and Finance for its exhibit on green finance. Second place went to the Ministry of Water Resources, which showcased water-saving technologies as key solutions amid regional water scarcity. The third place was shared by the Ministries of Energy and Transport, which highlighted infrastructure initiatives aimed at achieving zero carbon emissions.
More than 20 international organizations and leading companies participated in the exhibition. The pavilion of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan took first place for its comprehensive presentation of regional initiatives. Second place was awarded to the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA, UAE) for introducing innovative solutions for arid regions. The third place was shared by the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (China) for its scientific research on sustainable land use and CAMCE (China) for demonstrating advanced technologies and a sustainable approach to infrastructure development.
Best pavilion awards among regions were:
1st place — Republic of Karakalpakstan, for large-scale ecological restoration projects in the Aral Sea region;
2nd place — Samarkand region, for practical achievements in waste management and greening efforts;
3rd place — Navoi region, for effectively integrating environmental solutions into the industrial sector.
Among structural organizations, the winners were:
1st place — Center for State Ecological Expertise;
2nd place (shared) — Agency for Waste Management and Development of the Circular Economy and Agency for afforestation, expansion of green areas and combating desertification
3rd place — "Yashil Loyikha" Project Institute.
These pavilions showcased cutting-edge practices in environmental expertise, green investments, innovative waste recycling, and climate adaptation.
Additionally, 52 innovative ecological startup projects, led by 122 young innovators, were showcased at the exhibition. As a result, first place was awarded to Kumara Sagdullaeva and Ernazar Tlektesov, authors of the "Aral 1" and "Small Hybrid Tractor for Agriculture projects". The second place was taken by the "EcoAsfalt" project by Mukaddam Bekmuratova. Third place was awarded to Asadabek Urunov for his project "Water Purification Vessel". Cash prizes were allocated to support startups: 500 million sums for the 1st place, 300 million sums for the 2nd place and 200 million sums for the 3rd place.
