Following training courses, fieldwork and equipment testing, specialists from the Ministry and the Tashkent Department of Digital Development have begun building an electronic database of the city’s green spaces.
The digital registry will enable systematic accounting of trees, integrate data with other state information systems—including those related to urban planning and land use—and enhance oversight to ensure preservation and prevent illegal logging.
Modern technologies are being used in the process, including GPS devices, photo documentation, instrumental measurements and elements of artificial intelligence for data analysis. Once verified by dendrologists, each tree’s entry will include details such as species, age, condition, exact location and other characteristics.
By the end of this year, at least one million trees are expected to be included in the database, which is available on the platform green.tashkent.uz. (https://green.tashkent.uz/)
