On April 29, a meeting took place between the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Volvach.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current progress of projects and agreements under the Joint Action Plan aimed at increasing mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Russia for the period 2024–2030. In the first quarter of this year, trade turnover between the two countries reached $2.6 billion, with Uzbek exports to Russia increasing by 18.2%. Currently, over 3,000 joint ventures and wholly foreign enterprises with Russian capital are operating in Uzbekistan.
The parties also highlighted the successful establishment of the Expert Center for Strategic Initiatives at the Tashkent State University of Economics. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic cooperation and continuing productive joint efforts across all areas of trade development.
