The inaugural dialogue of participants in the Export Accelerator Program—implemented by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan—was held in Tashkent.
Launched in September 2024, the Export Accelerator has already facilitated the entry of 29 entrepreneurs into international markets. To date, these participants have achieved export deliveries totaling over $14 million to more than 10 countries.
Inomjon Abdurakhmanov, Head of the Department of Foreign Trade at the Ministry, provided a comprehensive overview of the current state support mechanisms available to exporters. He also outlined the prospects for Uzbek manufacturers in accessing foreign markets, with particular focus on the European Union, the Middle East, and CIS countries.
During the discussion of challenges and systemic issues, participants highlighted the need to develop specialized financial instruments, including international factoring mechanisms. Emphasis was placed on the importance of engaging highly specialized consultants to support export-oriented projects and on implementing a mentoring system whereby experienced exporters can offer practical guidance to newcomers in foreign trade.
The event continued with a series of training sessions focused on enhancing self-presentation skills, effective engagement with international partners, and adapting products to meet foreign market requirements. Special attention was given to the development of soft skills—critical competencies that underpin successful international negotiations.
