On June 24 of this year, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Deputy Minister Akram Aliyev and Remi Dion, Senior Advisor for Partner and Donor Relations at the international organization CONNEX Support Unit.
The dialogue focused on prospects for expanding cooperation to improve the quality of preparation and support for investment agreements. Special attention was paid to ensuring balanced conditions in the implementation of large-scale projects in the areas of infrastructure, renewable energy, and the mining industry.
The parties discussed the possibility of engaging CONNEX international expert teams to provide comprehensive legal, economic, and environmental support — from the pre-project stage to the conclusion of investment contracts.
CONNEX Support Unit is an international initiative launched by the G7 countries and operating under the auspices of GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation). The organization offers developing countries free technical, legal, and analytical assistance during negotiations on large-scale investment agreements, especially in the sectors of extractive industries, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
