During the meeting, a preliminary discussion was held on the draft Law "On Limiting Greenhouse Gas Emissions", as well as the Law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

It was also noted that amendments and additions are being made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility to establish liability for the illegal drilling of groundwater wells, and to tighten responsibility for the uncontrolled and unaccounted use of groundwater. Legislative requirements for the reclassification of irrigated land have been tightened, and specific conditions will be established for the further use of land whose category has been changed.

These measures aim to reduce cases of unauthorised use of groundwater, increase the accountability of legal entities and individuals for violations in this area, and enhance the effectiveness of state control. Conditions are also being created for business entities engaged in the drilling of groundwater wells.

Additionally, members of the permanent commissions of local Kengashes expressed their views and suggestions during the event.
