The event was attended by executives and specialists from the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its subordinate enterprises, as well as representatives of South Korean organisations KOICA, KOMIR, KIGAM, SOAM, and Argonet.
It was noted that the goal of the project is to create a Unified Geological Information Management System, ensure its full digitalisation, and digitally modernise the monitoring processes of hazardous geological phenomena.
As part of the project, the hazardous geological process monitoring system will be equipped with state-of-the-art remote sensing equipment and an analytical information system will be developed. All reports with electronic copies held in the State Geological Fund will be fully digitised, and geological maps will be converted into digital GIS format. As a result of the project’s implementation, a digital database of the State Geological Fund will be established. In addition, specialised training seminars and workshops will be organised in both Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
