An Anti-Corruption Seminar Held at the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology

The event was attended by staff members from the central office of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, as well as heads of departments and divisions from more than 20 subordinate organisations.
Adviser to the Minister, Mr. M. Pirozhkov, briefed the participants on the work being carried out in the Ministry in this area.
In particular, it was noted that in March of this year, the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan published the results of a performance rating assessing the effectiveness of public institutions in combating corruption for the year 2024. According to the results, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, having scored 95 points, ranked second among 102 government bodies.
Additionally, as part of the seminar, Mr. I. Achilov, Prosecutor of the Department for Coordination of Anti-Corruption Activities under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan and PhD in Law, delivered a lecture entitled “Mechanisms of Combating Corruption in Uzbekistan and Their Legal Foundations.”
The seminar also included explanations of key legislative documents related to anti-corruption efforts, in particular the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-71 dated 21 April 2025 “On Measures for the Effective Implementation of Priority Tasks Identified for Further Improving the Anti-Corruption System,” as well as the Resolution No. PP-147 dated 21 April 2025 “On Measures to Ensure the Independence and Increase the Efficiency of Internal Anti-Corruption Control Units in Public Institutions and Organisations.”
A Q&A session was also held, during which participants received detailed answers to their questions.
