The meeting was attended by Antonella Bassani, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Webke Schlomer, International Finance Corporation (IFC) Regional Director for Central Asia and Turkey, Timur Ishmetov, Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and other high-level representatives.
At the outset of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on global economic trends, ensuring sustainable economic growth, modern trends and opportunities, the role and impact of artificial intelligence in enhancing labor productivity, the importance of the World Trade Organization in job creation, attracting advanced technologies, and expanding trade opportunities.
Additionally, it was emphasized that creating new jobs, particularly quality positions in the sectors of infrastructure, healthcare, tourism, agriculture, and industrial production, is currently one of the crucial priorities.
During the discussions, the parties also reviewed the results achieved through socio-economic reforms being implemented in our country, as well as the economic and financial processes in Uzbekistan. Specifically, the following areas were highlighted:
· ensuring macroeconomic stability:
· implementing effective fiscal policy:
· managing inflation rates within target indicators:
· results achieved in infrastructure projects implemented through public-private partnerships:
· ongoing efforts to transform state-owned enterprises:
· privatization processes:
· improving energy efficiency and establishing a sustainable and green heating system:
· supporting the private sector:
· developing the transportation and logistics sector.
In turn, World Bank representatives highly commended the efforts being undertaken in Uzbekistan to ensure economic growth and macroeconomic stability.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties agreed to further develop mutual cooperation, expand the exchange of views on the aforementioned areas, and conduct effective and systematic activities to achieve the designated objectives.
