The delegation included Antonio Nucifora, Practice Manager for Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment in Europe and Central Asia, as well as leading economists and experts of the World Bank. From the Uzbek side, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhomjon Umrzakov, Advisor to the Minister Jasur Karshibayev, and other responsible officials took part in the negotiations.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key directions for Uzbekistan’s economic development, including growth prospects for the national economy and measures to enhance the country’s investment attractiveness. The World Bank representatives presented an analytical review of the current economic situation in Uzbekistan, highlighting the country’s strong potential for expanding exports and attracting foreign direct investment.
Particular attention was paid to improving the efficiency of state-owned enterprises and further fostering a competitive market environment. The successful implementation of structural reforms aimed at liberalizing the economy and creating a favorable business climate was emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in expanding strategic partnership and implementing joint projects aimed at supporting the sustainable economic development of Uzbekistan.
