Nine more unique trees from Uzbekistan included in MonumentalTrees.com international list

The newly listed trees include:
– Five century-old elms growing in the Chimbay district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan (each over 100 years old);
– A mulberry tree in the city of Jizzakh, Jizzakh region (over 200 years old);
– A mulberry tree in the city of Kattakurgan, Samarkand region (estimated to be 250–300 years old);
– A plane tree in the Narpay district (450 years old);
– A plane tree in the Payaryk district of the Samarkand region (over 1,000 years old).
For reference: Several other ancient trees from Uzbekistan have already been included in the MonumentalTrees.com list, including:
– An Eastern Biota in the Forish district, Jizzakh region (1,500 years old);
–Sycamore in the Urgut district, Samarkand region (1,160 years old);
– An archa (juniper) (1,000 years), a Hazel tree (800 years), and a Sycamore (600 years) in the Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region;
– Sycamore in the village of Sayrob, Boysun district, Surkhandarya region (900 years);
– Sycamore loin the territory of the Dorus-Saodat Memorial Complex in the city of Shakhrisabz, Kashkadarya region (700 years);
– The Boboyongok Hazel tree in Zaamin National Nature Park, Jizzakh region (700 years).
It is worth noting that Uzbekistan is the first country in Central Asia whose natural heritage sites have been included in this international list — and the third among CIS countries, after Russia and Azerbaijan.
The Ministry continues its systematic efforts to identify and nominate other ancient, unique trees from across the country for inclusion in the MonumentalTrees.com database.
